You know that feeling of automatically passing judgment of someone and then immediately feeling not so great with yourself? If a single judgment of someone can make you feel that way in the moment, what would happen if you were perpetually judgmental.

Here at Sweet Freedom, we believe that there is a time and a place for judgment, but if we let those judgments determine how we interact with the outside world, we can end up fostering an even worse relationship with ourselves.

This unhealthy way of interacting with others often extends into our relationship with food. Being judgmental of others can often lead us to be judgmental of ourselves. Often times that can turn to self sabotage.

What’s one of the easiest and fastest ways to sabotage ourselves? Unhealthy food choices i.e. sugar and processed foods.

You may be thinking, “You’re telling me that judging other people is connected to my sugar addiction?!” If you think this is far off, take a moment to realize the next time you’re passing judgment on someone.

Really let yourself sit with the thought of judging someone, notice how it makes you feel. Is it a positive feeling? Does the judgment leave you feeling better about yourself?

This disconnect of going from judgment straight to self sabotage without consciously thinking about it creates a dangerous cycle that leaves you unhappy with yourself and the world around you.

So start noticing, because you will find that by removing negative judgments from your life and basing your arguments on logic and reasoning will not only lead you to have better relationships with the outside world but also with yourself and consequently, with your food choices.
