Ingredients

  • 1  onion diced
  • 2  Carrots diced
  • 2  yams/sweet potatoes
  • 1  swede/turnip peeled and diced
  • 1  parsnip diced
  • 1 cup split peas soaked overnight
  • 2  bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1 cup stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup cooked chick peas
  • 1 tsp Salt

Servings: 4

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a casserole dish with just enough water to cover.
  2. Simmer on low until vegetables are very tender.
  3. Remove bay leaves and serve.
